Abstract
The course has the aim of presenting advanced topics that, while rooted in digital signal processing, might be of help in different research contexts. The main topics covered will be: (i) Methods of parameter estimation from signals: Wiener filter and linear prediction, Kalman filter and optimal estimation; (ii) Scale-space methods, combined time/frequency analysis (filter-banks and wavelet transform), multi-rate and multi-resolution sampling; iii) Application examples in communication systems, signal analysis and systems optimization.
